Wilfred P. “Shall” Miller, 83, St. Augustine, died at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Spangler, the son of the late Elmer A. and Annie J. (Anna) Miller.

Will was preceded in death by these siblings: Clarence, James, Hilda Williams, Dorothy Himes, Laverne Ives, Cyril, Harold “Listen,” John and Lloyd.

Surviving his wife of 57 years, the former Betty Ann (Mulligan), whom he married on October 5, 1963 in

St. Augustine; son, Dr.

Russell P. Miller and his wife, the former Lori (Kosicki); siblings: Alene (Earl) Smithmyer from Ashville, Thomas of Bellwood, David (Mary Jane Nelson) from Ashville, Patricia from Ashville and Gary (Patty Chverchko) from Ashville; sisters-in-law, Delores Miller from Ashville and Sandy Huber from Altoona. Will is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He loved to read and enjoyed nature through the joys of hunting, fishing, vegetable gardening, birdwatching, riding his four-wheeler, and chopping firewood for the winter.

Will was a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he learned plumbing and pipe fittings.

He was a lifelong member of UA Local 354 plumbers and pipe fitters. He retired from SCI Smithfield as a plumbing instructor in 2001. Will was also a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, serving as a minister extraordinary, an usher, always involved in Church projects and activities, and as a plumber for the meetinghouses for many years.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 11 am at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Reverend Jerzy Augustick OFM, Celebrant. Committal, Church Cemetery. Military rites in charge of Ashville VFW and other local military organizations.

Friends will be received from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Gibbons Funeral Home, 1688 Liberty St., Ashville, PA 16613, where a vigil will be held Tuesday afternoon.
