Wallbox releases Eco-Smart power management platform for smart EV charging
EV charging and power management company Wallbox has launched a home power management feature for the US market, the Eco-Smart and Power Boost. Eco-Smart and Power Boost come standard with Pulsar Plus, the smallest available smart home EV charger in North America, capable of charging 48 amps (11.5 kW).

Eco-Smart uses a power meter to measure the energy from the solar system on the roof of a house to charge an EV in an efficient and sustainable way. This feature allows homeowners to determine the source and mix of power to be supplied to the EV and is available in two modes:
Full-Green Mode detects when enough excess green energy is available from the home solar PV system to charge an EV, so that the EV is charged with renewable energy.
Eco Mode combines energy from the grid with excess green energy from home solar panels, maximizing charging speed while taking advantage of the available power of the home solar PV system.
Eco-Smart can be controlled via the myWallbox app on a mobile device if the user prefers to switch to all-grid power.
Power Boost is designed to allow for the installation of a more powerful charger where the electrical capacity of the home could otherwise limit the power available for charging electric vehicles.
Power Boost can measure the real-time energy consumption of a household and dynamically adjust the charging capacity of EVs. This allows users to install a more powerful EV charger in their home. When household electricity consumption is increased, such as when air conditioning is in use, the charging capacity of EVs can be dynamically reduced to avoid overloading the electrical system. As household electricity consumption decreases, the charging capacity of EVs increases, allowing users to charge at maximum speed.
