Terry Green joins NWFA’s Legacy Scholarship
St. Louis, Miss.—The National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) has included Terry Green of DuraSeal in its Legacy Scholarship program through the NWFA Education and Research Foundation (NERF). The NERF Legacy Scholarship program honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the advancement of the wood flooring industry throughout their lives.
“Terry was one of the first people I worked with when I joined DuraSeal/Minwax in this industry over 35 years ago,” said Jim Schumacher, Chairman of the Board of Directors of NERF. “He always emphasized the importance of knowing the floor contractor and understanding their business so that we can serve them better, a good piece of advice that I have followed to this day. He will be greatly missed.”
Green started his career in wood floors in the paint coating industry. He joined DuraSeal in 1985 and was promoted a year later to area manager and in 2005 to area manager with responsibility for half of the United States. According to the company, Green has given free rein during his more than 30 years in the industry, serving as a volunteer NWFA instructor and as a go-to resource for wood flooring professionals throughout the supply chain.
NERF was established to provide industry research and educate future generations of wood flooring professionals, while the NERF Legacy Scholarship program helps the NWFA minimize training costs for participants, the company said. Through NERF, NWFA offers educational opportunities such as hands-on training, NWFA University, NWFA Live Edge, and scholarships. Since 2014, NWFA has awarded scholarships totaling more than $75,000.
