SolarEdge releases new line of string inverters for C&I solar projects

SolarEdge has introduced a new line of commercial inverters with Synergy technology, which are now available for roof, ground-mount and carport applications in North America. SolarEdge’s three-phase inverters with Synergy technology reach up to 120 kW and are designed to provide more power and higher profitability in large-scale C&I PV installations.

The 120 kW, 100 kW and 80 kW inverters for the 480 V grid and the 50 kW for the 208 V grid maximize energy production with up to 150% DC oversizing. The system offers improved uptime through modularity and independently operating units. By introducing an innovative pre-commissioning feature for in-depth visibility, installers can fully and automatically validate system components from their smartphones before connecting to the power grid. To avoid degradation of the module’s performance, the solution includes a built-in nighttime PID rectifier (potential induced degradation).

Together with SolarEdge’s safety features – including integrated arc fault protection and rapid shutdown – the solution provides an additional layer of protection through built-in thermal sensors on the DC and AC terminal blocks, as well as field-replaceable surge protection devices.

“We are proud to provide our customers with innovative technology that improves the profitability of large-scale PV installations through scalable DC optimization,” said Peter Mathews, general manager of SolarEdge North America. “Our solution addresses a growing demand in the North American C&I sector for increased energy production, design flexibility, advanced safety and security, and high-resolution real-time monitoring. It is also designed to improve profitability for installers by reducing installation times, BoS (balance of system) and O&M costs.”
