Orbital Solar Services building 132-MW array in the Southeast

Orbital Solar Services (OSS) was awarded an EPC contract for the construction of a 132.2 MWDC/100-MWAC solar project in the southeast.

Under the terms of the contract, OSS will provide full-scale EPC services, including substation construction, and is expected to complete the array in early 2022. The project will include 350,000 solar panels on 800 hectares of land and will supply power to 20,000 homes per year.

“We are thrilled to receive this project award, which demonstrates Orbital’s ability to provide services that help reduce our nation’s carbon footprint,” said Jim O’Neil, vice chairman and CEO of Orbital Energy Group. “This project and other similar ones serve to expand OSS’ industry relationships based on a solid track record and expertise to provide end-to-end solutions.”

To date, OSS has completed 40 solar energy projects totaling 600 MW.
