Duchateau introduces first SPC flooring
San Diego-Duchateau, a luxury architectural surfaces brand, introduced its first SPC flooring. The new Kindred collection has ten colors and is low maintenance/liveable.
“This is a high-quality, low-maintenance product that is perfect for the homeowner looking for an easy-to-live-in yet stylish floor,” said Patrick Bewley, vice president of marketing.
The floor is fitted with 9 inch wide planks with a 60 inch length. According to the company, a lot of attention has been paid to both the look and feel of the floor. “We know all the beauty that wood can offer and are experts at bringing those unique colors to life at Duchateau,” Bewley said. “We’ve created LVT styles that embody these nuances of color and tone.”
Duchateau said it chose to make Kindred an SPC product so that customers can take advantage of the stability it offers. The 3L TripleLock click system was chosen to make installation as quick and easy as possible. To make sure it feels great underfoot, the Kindred collection also features a 1.5mm IXPE foam backing, which the company says is 50% thicker than standard LVT.
“Our retailers tell us what their customers want,” said Rick Wagner, vice president of sales. “Minimal pattern repeats, hyper-realistic wood visuals and embossing in register all made the list. Kindred not only offers all three, but really checks every box when it comes to the specs customers want.”
According to Wagner, Waterproof is an important sales feature for LVT. Kindred is not only waterproof, but also stain and scratch resistant. The ten colors that make up the original Kindred collection cover a wide range of shades. Finn is a pale white with subtle variation, while Blake is the darkest color and combines dark ash tones with chocolate brown.
Duchateau also added a new perspective to its hardwood offerings for The Guild, adding five colors to the popular Lineage range of composite wood UV varnish finished floors.
Duchateau said it created The Guild Hardwood to provide millennials and aspiring homeowners with quality flooring at affordable prices.
“While the LVT story is making the most of the headlines, there remains a strong market for the high-fashion wood floor visuals offered in our Lineage series,” Bewley said.
