Construction starts on 160-MW solar project powering West Texas natural gas plant

Concho Valley Solar has begun construction of a 160 MWAC solar project near San Angelo in Tom Green County, Texas, expected to come online in late 2022. The solar project will supply power to Targa Resources’ natural gas processing plant in West Texas.

About 150 jobs are expected to be created during the construction phase and more revenue will be generated for tax authorities in Tom Green County over the lifetime.

Concho Valley Solar is designed to minimize the impact on wildlife, habitats and other natural resources. The project will use two-sided photovoltaic solar panels. Concho Valley Solar is a joint development between Merit SI and Komipo America.
