Mountville, Pa.—Two AHF products—Bruce’s Dogwood Densified Wood Technology and Bruce LifeSeal Reserve—were honored with Good Design 2021 Awards. Founded in Chicago in 1950 by Eero Saarinen and Charles and Ray Eames, Good Design remains the oldest and one of the world’s most recognized programs for design excellence worldwide.

These awards are honored for quality design with the highest form, function and aesthetics and recognize products from across the AHF Products portfolio, including hardwood and rigid core floors. “We are extremely proud that AHF Products was recognized in all categories; our legacy hardwoods and also rigid core, which is one of our newest lines,” said Wendy Booker, vice president of marketing and new product development. “Our product team places great emphasis on both innovation and performance, as well as meeting the specific needs of our customers, so this recognition is gratifying.”

Dogwood Densified Wood is a 100% natural product that is made according to a natural process. Through a manufacturing process that uses heat and pressure, densified dogwood provides scratch, dent and water resistant protection against everyday use, pet nails and accidents.

Bruce LifeSeal Reserve provides 100% waterproof protection to handle the busiest homes and light commercial spaces, without sacrificing comfort or style, according to AHF. In addition, the floor features the company’s new Cleantivity antimicrobial coating technology, which inhibits the growth of bacteria, mold and mildew. This carefully curated, resilient floor collection offers a luxurious range of designs in muted textures and in wide widths with wood and authentic looks in stone and marble.

This year, the museum received a record number of entries from the world’s leading manufacturers and industrial and graphic design firms representing the most important and critical mass of influential companies in the design industry from more than 55 countries, representing the best consumer design, ranging from the ‘ spoon to town’ for durability, superior design and unparalleled function.

In November and December, the 71st Good Design jury met to select more than 1,100 product designs and images worthy of the Good Design Award for their Design Excellence. Good Design is an international symbol of a company’s determined commitment to innovation and superior design embodiment.
