Blair pays more for HVAC work | News, Sports, Jobs
HOLLIDAYSBURG — Blair County Commissioners have authorized $4,020 to be paid more for the replacement of a heating, ventilation and air conditioning coil at the prison.
Siemens Industry Inc. from Pittsburgh asked for a higher compensation based on how the work was progressing and what the company said was two extra days of mechanical work from the crew.
Commissioner Amy Webster credited Brian Wiser of Keller Engineers and Jim Pooler, facilities maintenance coordinator, for reviewing the company’s request for an additional payment and negotiating the lower amount, based on the terms of the the contract that the province has signed with the company.
Because of the extra work, the cost of replacing the coil was $55,868 instead of the original contract cost of $51,847, Pooler said.
