Afternoon fire destroys roofs of two Langley homes – Aldergrove Star
During the afternoon commute, motorists from all over Langley could see black plumes of smoke filling the otherwise blue sky above Langley late Friday afternoon.
Early reports point to a house fire near 216th Street and Fraser Highway in the Murrayville Historic District. It’s across the street from Langley Fundamental Elementary.
EARLIER TODAY: Power outage hits Langley City, Murrayville
The fire brigade of the municipality was called just before 5 p.m. A total of six fire trucks are on the scene, and emergency services are blocking the 21700 block of 50th Avenue.
While firefighters appear to be getting the blaze under control, witnesses at the scene said it is still on fire and the two-storey house has suffered extensive fire damage. Damage to the roof of the neighboring house has also been reported.
Police at the scene say no injuries were reported.
