Abundant Solar and Solar Alliance ally to build large-scale PV in Southeast U.S.

Solar Alliance Energy works with Canadian developer Abundant solar energy to pursue large-scale solar utility projects in the Southeast.

Projects will range from 1 MW to 10 MW or more, and will typically involve competitive bids for local and regional utilities.

“There are significant utility-scale solar opportunities in the southeastern US and this partnership will provide a strong, proven platform from which to place competitive bids,” said Myke Clark, CEO of Solar Alliance. “Solar Alliance and Abundant are currently assessing several utility-scale capabilities and this partnership will enable us to deliver cost-competitive, turnkey solar systems. We are excited to partner with Abundant and work with them to build long-term, delivering recurring revenue streams by targeting power purchase agreements with major utilities.”

In this partnership, Solar Alliance is responsible for utility communications and relationship management, design and engineering, materials procurement and construction. Abundant will be responsible for identifying and securing sources of tax equity and non-recourse project debt, overseeing project design and bid prices.

“Solar Alliance has a strong presence in the Southeastern US and we are excited to bring our experience in large-scale project development and financing to this partnership,” said Richard Lu, CEO of Abundant. “Our two companies have developed a strong relationship and this agreement enables us to provide a strong turnkey solar solution to utilities transitioning to renewable energy.”
