AJ Perri Cares Program Gives Back to Military Veterans
TINTON FALLS – AJ Perri, a New Jersey-based supplier of air conditioning, heating and plumbing that is celebrating its 50th anniversaryth anniversary, given back to two military veterans by donating and installing free heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) in their homes.
Former U.S. Marines Robert Felicito and Thomas Winemiller, both from Brick Township, received their donations through the AJ Perri Cares Program, which has been providing equipment and services to military veterans since 2017. In the past, AJ Perri has donated equipment and services to other veterans and health professionals in communities such as Brick, Point Pleasant, Clark, and many others. AJ Perri employees also regularly engage in volunteer and community activities aimed at veterans.
“Our entire team appreciates the selfless service that our active and retired military personnel have provided to their country,” said AJ Perri General Manager Christian Dunning. “It is a privilege for us to honor their services and sacrifices by making their home as comfortable as possible, free of charge.”
Felicito, whose father was also a Marine, served from 1989 to 1993. He inherited his home from his mother after she passed away. The home’s HVAC unit was 20 years old before AJ Perri donated a new system. Felicito stated that, as a veteran, he is both grateful and grateful for the support that AJ Perri and his associates have given him. “The air conditioning was creeping in the summer months, and it was definitely the right time to buy a new oven and air conditioner,” he said.
Thomas Winemiller’s service with the Marines ran from 2004 to 2012 and included tours of Kuwait and Iraq. He works for Wall Township and volunteers for local fire companies. Winemiller and his fiancé, Sophie Butterman, bought an older house in Brick three years ago because the charm reminded them both of their grandparents’ houses. But the house came with a 25-year-old furnace in need of repair that was beyond their budget.
AJ Perri installed an all-new HVAC system and performed extensive repair work on the home’s ducts to ensure the system was running as efficiently as possible, all for free. “Tommy deserves a new HVAC system,” said Butterman. “He is the most hard-working, easy-going, and thoughtful person I’ve ever met, and always puts other people’s needs above his.”
